Two Teens Charged with Arson in Sandy Township

Crime SceneSANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – The PA State Police Fire Marshal, Sandy Township Police Department, PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), and Treasure Lake Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that destroyed a mobile home at Lot 117, Cayman Landing Campground, Treasure Lake, Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, the home was occupied by Ned Caldwell and Andrea Harrison, of DuBois, at the time of the fire.

Police say Harrison was awakened by a pet and discovered smoke in the home.

She and Caldwell escaped the home without injury, according to police.

The fire originated on the exterior of the structure, and the cause of the fire was determined to be arson, police say.

There were no injuries, according to police.

The incident occurred around 6:14 a.m. on May 15, 2015.

Charges for Arson and other criminal offenses are pending against a 13-year-old male and a 16-year-old male from McKeesport, Pa., according to police.

The juveniles were taken into custody and turned over to juvenile authorities in Clearfield County, police say.

Damage is estimated at $35,000.00.
