Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 119, Young Township

Police car lightsYOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 12:28 p.m. on November 26, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119 (Buffalo-Pittsburgh Highway), in Young Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, a known driver, of Punxsutawney, and 25-year-old Christopher C. Riggsby, of Indiana, were involved in the collision.

Police say a 2003 Dodge Durango, operated by the known driver, was turning left on Snyder Hill Road from Route 119 South, and a 2009 Mazda, driven by Riggsby, was traveling north on Route 119.

The Durango was struck in the 3 o’clock position by the Mazda and came to a rest facing west.

The Mazda received damage to the 12 o’clock position and came to a rest facing north.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

The driver of the Durango suffered minor injuries.

Two passengers in the Durango were not injured.

Riggsby and two passengers were not hurt in the collision.

All occupants were using seat belts.

The driver of the Durango was charged with a traffic violation.

Police did not release the name of the driver of the Dodge Durango.
