Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 119, Young Township

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 7:40 p.m. on November 27, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119, at its intersection with Cunningham Road, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 77-year-old John J. Como, of Marion Center, and 60-year-old Eugene E. Wood, of Punxsutawney, were involved in the collision.

According to police, Wood – driving a 2015 Subaru Outback – was stopped on the southbound lane of travel with the vehicle’s left turn signal activated and waiting for oncoming traffic to pass when a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu – driven by Como – attempted to pass it on the southbound curb. In the process, the Chevrolet rear-ended the Subaru.

Both drivers were using seat belts, and no injuries were reported.

Como was charged with a traffic violation.
