Emergency Crews Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash in Young Twp.

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225YOUNG TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say around 4:39 p.m. on November 20, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119, east of Hidden Lane, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 32-year-old Brandon M. Nichol, of Rochester Mills, and 56-year-old Dorothy E. Miller, of Punxsutawney, were involved in the collision.

Nichol was stopped in the southbound lane of travel in a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier for a previous crash. Miller was traveling south on Route 119 and was unable to see Nichol’s car due to the setting sun. Her 2005 Chevrolet Venture struck the Cavalier in the southbound lane, according to police.

The Cavalier traveled approximately 66 feet before coming to a final rest facing southeast in the northbound lane.

The Venture traveled approximately 125 feet before coming to a final rest facing south off the southbound lane of travel.

Both drivers were using seat belts and were not injured.

Jefferson County EMS and Lindsey Fire Department assisted at the scene.
