Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 36, Bell Township

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225BELL TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred on March 4 around 7:55 p.m. on State Route 36, in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to police, William D. Troyer, 22, of Sykesville, was traveling north behind several vehicles in a 1998 Volkswagen Passat.

The line of traffic slowed down, and Troyer was unable to stop, causing him to steer left onto the southbound lane of travel.

Troyer’s vehicle was struck in the southbound lane by a 2001 Ford Taurus driven by Joseph M Pisker, 68, of Punxsutawney.

The Passat came to rest facing northwest, and the Taurus came to rest facing south.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were uninjured.

Troyer was cited with a traffic violation.

Central Fire Department assisted at the scene.
