Ice-Covered Roadway Causes Two-Vehicle Crash in Porter Township

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Ewing Road, near Porter Road, in Porter Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 67-year-old Linda J. Dinger, of Summerville, and 55-year-old Kathryn A. Johnston, of Punxsutawney, were involved in the collision.

According to police, this crash occurred as a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Dinger, and a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Johnston, were traveling north on Ewing Road on the ice-covered roadways.

Dinger lost control of her vehicle and struck the Chevrolet’s right rear end portion of the vehicle. Upon impact with the Chevrolet, the Chrysler slid off the roadway into an embankment and came to a final rest, police say.

Both drivers were using seat belts and were not injured.

The Chrysler sustained damage to the left side of the vehicle. It was towed from the scene by Southside Towing.

The Chevrolet sustained damage to the right rear portion of the vehicle.
