UPDATE: DA’s Office Says Report of Attempted Child Abduction on Redbank Trail Unfounded

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) – The Clarion County District Attorney’s Office has deemed an attempted child abduction reported October 7 to be unfounded.

On October 8, the Clarion County District Attorney’s Office issued a press release stating the Southern Clarion County Regional Police Department received a report that a minor female was accosted by a young male who demanded that she go with him.

The incident was alleged to have occurred on the Redbank Valley Trail in the vicinity of Redbank Valley High School.

Following an investigation, it was determined that this allegation was unfounded.

“The District Attorney’s Office would like to thank law enforcement for their diligent work and the community at large for their help in resolving this matter,” said Assistant District Attorney Drew Welsh in a press release issued Friday afternoon.

Welsh says the investigation into the allegation is ongoing.
