UPDATE: Jefferson County Man Allegedly Threatens to Kill Victim, Bury Him in Backyard

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – Additional details have been provided in a case in which a Punxsutawney man is accused of intentionally rear-ending another vehicle during a violent altercation in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

According to court documents, Punxsutawney-based State Police have filed criminal charges against the following individuals:

Joseph Allen Edwards, 41
Amanda Leeann Edwards, 27
Justin Wendale Mock, 25

According to a criminal complaint, the incident occurred on Thursday, July 13, as Joseph Allen Edwards attempted to resume a verbal argument with two victims and a juvenile. Edwards began a verbal argument with the victims in his brother-in-law’s driveway where he allegedly threatened to kill the male victim and bury him in his backyard.

The female tried to drive away down Cloe Cherry Street and called her mother because she didn’t know which way to go. She then went and turned around at the old ice cream store at the corner of Route 36 and Cloe Rossiter Road. At this point, Edwards got into his white 1996 Chevy Blazer and began to follow the victims and the juvenile, the complaint indicates.

As the victims began to turn in the parking lot, Edwards allegedly shouted that he “was going to rear end their (expletive) car, and he didn’t care if there’s a kid in the back seat,” according to the complaint.

The victims started to travel toward Punxsutawney on Route 36. the female victim slowed down and thought that Edwards was going to stop, but he didn’t. Edwards allegedly began to accelerate and intentionally struck the rear of their Chevy Cavalier with his Blazer, the complaint states.

After hitting the car, Joseph Edwards’ wife, Amber Edwards, and his brother-in-law, Justin Wendale Mock, arrived in a separate vehicle and allegedly began a physical altercation with the victims, the complaint continues.

Based on the investigation, Joseph Edwards was arraigned at 10:42 a.m. on July 14 in front of Magisterial District Judge Douglas Robert Chambers on the following charges:

– Aggravated Assault, Felony 2 (three counts)
– Endangering Welfare of Children – Parent/Guardian/Other Commits Offense, Felony 3
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 1 (three counts)
– Terroristic Threats W/ Int To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1 (three counts)
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2 (three counts)
– Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2 (three counts)
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary (three counts)
– Following Too Closely, Summary
– Careless Driving, Summary
– Reckless Driving, Summary
– Operating Vehicle W/O Valid Inspection, Summary

Unable to post $50,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail.

According to court documents, PSP Punxsutawney filed the following charges against Amanda Edwards and Justin Mock:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

All three defendants face preliminary hearings on August 3 at 11:00 a.m. with Judge Chambers presiding.
