PennDOT Lifts Speed Limit Restrictions on Interstate 80

511paPennDOT has lifted the speed limit restrictions that were in place on Interstate 80 in Mercer, Venango, Clarion and Jefferson counties.

Speed limits were reduced to 45 mph on Interstate 80 due to the winter storm impacting the region. All speeds on Interstate 80 are restored to their usual posted limits.

The speed limit reduction to 45 mph will remain in place on Interstate 90 in Erie County and Interstate 79 in Erie, Crawford, and Mercer counties due to the continued impact of winter conditions in those areas.

PennDOT is continuing to treat roadways in the area and will continue until roads are clear.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 825 traffic cameras.
