Tractor-Trailer Slides on Wet Roadway, Rolls Over on Interstate 80 in Pine Township

PINE TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A tractor-trailer slid on the wet roadway and rolled over on Interstate 80 in Pine Township on Friday night.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the crash occurred around 10:07 p.m. on Friday, August 5, on Interstate 80 in Pine Township, Clearfield County.

Police say a 2022 Volvo VNL 760 tractor-trailer operated by 39-year-old Balwinder Singh, of South Richmond Hill, New York, was traveling west near the 110.3-mile marker when he lost control of his truck and began to slide on the wet roadway.

The trailer of the vehicle struck the guide rail, causing the vehicle to subsequently overturn and come to a final rest on its side facing southwest.

Singh was transported by DuBois EMS Ambulance Service to Penn Highlands DuBois to treat suspected minor injuries, police say.

According to police, he was cited for failing to drive the vehicle at a safe speed.
