Van Overturns on State Route 219 in Bell Township

BELL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police in Punxsutawney released the details of a rollover crash that occurred along State Route 219, in Bell Township.

According to PSP Punxsutawney, the accident happened around 3:29 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30.

Police say a 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van operated by 40-year-old Dennis R. Evans, of Peach Bottom, was traveling south and negotiating a lefthand curve when the van traveled onto the southbound berm and overturned onto its passenger side for unknown reasons.

The van continued to travel on its passenger side for approximately 150 feet where it came to final rest.

Evans and his passengers—24-year-old Donovan J. Brown, of Delta, and 23-year-old Douglas C. Herr, of Peach Bottom—were not injured.

Brown was using a seat belt; however, Evans and Herr were not.

According to police, Evans was charged with a traffic violation.

PSP Punxsutawney was assisted on the scene by Mahaffey Volunteer Fire Department, Jefferson County EMS, PennDOT, and Pellas Automotive.
