Vandals Damage Congressional Candidate’s Signs For Second Time

political-sign2 Sometime on Friday, October 10 or Saturday, October 11, vandals damaged two campaign signs for Kerith Strano Taylor, Democratic Congressional candidate in the 5th District. The signs are located at Zacherl Farms on Highway 66.

This incident is the second to occur in the past several weeks. On Sept. 13 or 14, a vandal or vandals knocked down Strano Taylor’s campaign signs on the same site. Both incidents have been reported to the Pennsylvania State Police.

In the most recent incident, the vandal or vandals used a sledgehammer or similar tool to smash holes in the candidate’s face, and to break 2” x 4” boards and metal stakes that were supporting the sign.

“I actually feel sorry for whoever did this,” said Bill Miller, chair of the Clarion County Democratic Party.

“They obviously have hate issues, possibly directed at strong women. Clearly, the person who did this needs professional help.”political-sign1

Chris Billetdeaux, an executive board member of the Clarion County Democratic Party, asked, “Why are these folks attempting to take away the property owner’s and the candidate’s First Amendment rights?”

“This is great lesson in civics for our children.”
