HENDERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a two-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119, north of Big Run, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County, Pa.
Police say around 9:40 p.m. on October 15, Cory Wiant, 21, of Timblin, Pa. was traveling southbound in a Suzuki Aerio on SR 119 when he failed to negotiate a curve and slid on the wet roadway.
His vehicle crossed the centerline into the northbound path of a Jeep Wrangler, driven by Luke Fillhart, 22, of Punxsutawney, Pa.
The left rear of Wiant’s vehicle struck the front driver’s side of Fillhart’s vehicle.
The Jeep Wrangler rolled over multiple times before coming to rest off the east side of the roadway.
After impact, Wiant’s vehicle remained in the northbound lane of SR 119.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Wiant was cited for a summary traffic violation through District Court 54-3-02.
State Police were assisted at the scene by Big Run VFD and Brocious Towing.
