Vehicle Slams into Utility Pole off Route 322, Corsica Man Injured

A moving ambulance on it''s way to a crash site.CLARION TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – Clarion-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 322, approximately 200 feet west of Kingsville Road, in Clarion Township.

According to police, 54-year-old James R. Ward, of Corsica, was traveling westbound on SR 322.

As he was negotiating a right hand curve in the roadway, his 1999 Chevrolet Tracker crossed the eastbound lane, striking a utility pole along the left side of the road with the vehicle’s 12 o’clock position, police say.

The vehicle then traveled approximately 186 feet crossing back to the right side of the roadway, striking a mailbox. It then traveled approximately 150 feet before coming to a final rest, according to police.

Ward suffered injuries of unknown severity.

Clarion Ambulance transported him to Clarion Hospital.

He was using a seat belt.

He was charged with a traffic violation.
