Vinetta M. Davis

Vinetta M. Davis, 95, of Punxsutawney, died Friday, October 1, 2021, at AM-PM Personal Care Home.

She was born June 5, 1926, in Coleville, Spring Township, Centre County, a daughter of the late Olive Tate and Ralph E. Malone.

On August 27, 1949, she married Andrew A. Davis, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1998.

Vinetta was a faithful, active and devoted member of the St. Peters United Church of Christ in Punxsutawney. She served as a Sunday School Superintendent and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a member of the church consistory, church choir, women’s guild and served as the shopper for the Clean ‘n’ Gleam Mission within the church.

She was a graduate of the Bellefonte High School and after graduating, she worked for Titan Metals in Bellefonte to support the war efforts.

She also worked for Agway in Punxsutawney and for Ted Swartz Men’s and Boy’s Shop.

Vinetta was family oriented, she devoted her life to serving and caring for others.

She was focused, strong willed and highly organized.

She enjoyed traveling the world, sewing, being a band parent and chaperoning band trips and was involved in other school activities with her children.

Vinetta and her husband Andrew were devoted lifelong Penn State Fans.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt.

She is survived by her three children, son Lloyd “Dub” Davis and wife Patty of East Petersburg, PA, daughter Rebecca “Becky” Kunselman and husband Butch of Punxsutawney and daughter Emily Overly and husband Mark of Punxsutawney; six grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Jenna Long and husband Steve, Autumn Hadbavny and husband Ryan, Russell Overly and wife Maria, Blair Overly and wife Nikki, and Lloyd Overly and wife Kayla; four great grandchildren, Addison and Leyton Overly and Archie and Cora Long; four nieces, Peggy Haney, Molly Malone, Tracy Dietrich and Sandy Corman; and a nephew Ronald Malone.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard T. Malone and Robert B. Malone.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Punxsutawney with Reverend Glenn McQuown and Michelle Huey officiating.

Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park, State College.
