Vivian M. Painter, our beloved mother, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016, at her home at the age of 90, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Painter was born June 4, 1926 in Colver, Pa., a daughter of the late Bert and Bertha (Johns) Bathurst.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband Elton Painter in 1994, and two sons-in-law; Lenard McMillen and William Smochek.
She is survived by one son; Thomas Painter and wife Helen of Curwensville, three daughters; Diane McMillen, Darlene Smochek, and Denise Sunderlin and husband Dennis all of Mahaffey. Two sisters; Francis Lameraux of Burgettstown, Joan Patterson and husband William of Curwensville, eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 3 – 8 p.m. Wednesday October 5, 2016, at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey. An addition viewing will take place from 10 – 1 p.m. on Thursday October 6, 2016, with a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Barrett officiating.
Interment is private for family.
