Wanda Elaine (Jespersen) Bailey

Wanda Elaine (Jespersen) Bailey, 94, of 339 Lewis Street, Reynoldsville, PA, was called home to be with Jesus on June 23, 2021.

Born February 26, 1927, in Spencer Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Aage P. Jespersen D.V.M. and Emma A. (Rasmussen) Jespersen.

She was married to Ernest L. Bailey on June 30, 1948, in Worthington, Minn. Ernie preceded her in death on February 16, 1984.

Wanda was a 1945 graduate of Spencer High School and a 1947 graduate of the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.

She worked at a number of businesses and in sales over the years. As the wife of a career military serviceman, she lived in numerous places, (stateside and abroad) until Ernie retired to Colorado Springs, CO, in 1966. Then in 2009 Wanda moved to Reynoldsville, PA.

Wanda enjoyed activities at the Reynoldsville Senior Center, playing cards, dominoes, making puzzles and especially spending time with family and friends. She attended Tri County Church of DuBois, PA.

She is survived by one daughter, Diane (Robert) Vizza of Reynoldsville; two sons, Jeff (Sarah) Bailey of Naples, FL and Bill Bailey of Loveland, Co; a daughter-in-law, Jan Bailey of Colorado Springs; two grandchildren, David Vizza and Kristen (Nick) Reynolds; three great grandchildren of the Reynoldsville area, Tyler Reynolds, and Diamond and Berlin Thompson; one brother, Howard Jespersen of West Caldwell, NJ; and one sister, Althea (Lew) Long of Grand Junction, CO.

Wanda was preceded in death by a son, Michael Bailey and a daughter-in-law, Barb Bailey, both of Colorado Springs, CO, three brothers, Ivan Jespersen of San Jose, CA; Harlan Jespersen of Morristown, NJ; Ferman Jespersen of Columbia, MO and one sister, Thelma Williams of Whitter, CA.

As per Wanda’s wishes there will be no memorial services. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO. Memorial donations may be made to the Reynoldsville Foundry (Senior Center).
