Wayne E. Ginther, age 74 of DuBois, PA died Monday, January 10, 2022 at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
Born on July 10, 1947 in St. Marys, PA, he was the son of the late Earl and Grace (McQuone) Ginther.
On July 9, 1994 he married Katherine (Poltl) Ginther. She survives.
Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.
He was awarded the purple heart for his service.
He retired from SGL Carbon in St. Marys after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior and had been a member of the Fox Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Wayne was very supportive of any charity that supported United States Veterans.
Above all, he was devoted to his family.
He is survived by his children (Allan Ginther & his wife Jenny Silvis of St. Marys, PA) and (Sue Ganczak and her husband Ray of St. Marys, PA), 3 grandchildren (Blake & Jesse Greishaw and Jaxon Silvis) and 1 brother (Donald Ginther of Kersey, PA).
There will be no public visitation.
A private funeral service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with Peggy Senior, Director of Congregational Care, Lakeside United Methodist Church officiating.
