WEATHER ALERT: Freeze Watch in Effect for Jefferson County, Surrounding Areas

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (EYT) – The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Freeze Watch for Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

The following weather statement was issued for Jefferson County at 3:29 p.m. October 10, 2014.

INCLUDING THE COUNTIES OF: MERCER, VENANGO, FOREST, CLARION, JEFFERSON PA

INCLUDING THE CITIES OF: GROVE CITY, FRANKLIN, TIONESTA, CLARION, and BROOKVILLE

A FREEZE WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A FREEZE WATCH, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING.

-TEMPERATURES…IN THE LOWER 30S.
-TIMING…LATE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING.
-IMPACTS…UNPROTECTED OUTDOOR PLANTS WILL LIKELY BE DAMAGED OR KILLED.
-PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:

A FREEZE WATCH MEANS SUB-FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE POSSIBLE.

THESE CONDITIONS COULD KILL CROPS AND OTHER SENSITIVE VEGETATION.
