Weather Discovery Center to Host ‘Winter Wonders’ Three-Day Event

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (EYT) – After the excitement of Christmas Day, when the kids are getting a bit restless, the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is offering a chance to get out of the house for some educational fun.

With regular exhibits that show everything from how tornados work and how to stock a storm shelter to how animals can predict weather and the history of the famous furry prognosticator, Punxsutawney Phil, the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center offers multiple opportunities for learning how the science and the folklore of weather prediction collide.

With Christmas fast approaching, the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center is currently preparing for a three day special after Christmas Winter Wonders Event, highlighting winter weather with three different topics over three days.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 27; Friday, December 28; and Saturday, December 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day at the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center

Each day will focus on a different winter weather topic for exploration.

– On Thursday, December 27, learn the Science of Cold.

– On Friday, December 28, discover the Science of Ice.

– On Saturday, December 29, explore the Science of Snow.

Each day includes activities, crafts, and interactive learning plus free time on the exhibits and a snack.

The cost is $8.00 for one day, $15.00 for two days, and $21.00 for three days. Pre-registration is appreciated, but walk-ins are welcome.
