Wednesday’s Baseball Roundup: Park, Tanner LaBenne Lead the Way as Brookville 10-Runs Bradford

BROOKVILLE, Pa. (D9Sports) – Aaron Park and Tanner LaBenne each drove in three runs as Brookville topped visiting Bradford 11-1 in five innings.

LaBenne was 1-for-1 with a double, two walks, a run scored and a sacrifice fly, while Park went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Cole LaBenne added a pair of RBIs, a hit and a run scored.

Caleb Nuzzo was 2-for-3 with a double to lead Bradford. Kyle Kirk had the RBI for the Owls.

Ben Reitz got the win going 3 ⅓ innings allowing one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four. Dane Lyle finished off going 1 ⅔ innings allowing one hit while striking out one.

HOLLIDAYSBURG 6, PUNXSUTAWNEY 5, 9 INNINGS

HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. – Lennox Pugh’s one-out single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Hollidaysburg to a 6-5 win over Punxsutawney.

The game had been tied at five since the fourth inning before the Tigers got the game-winning run in the ninth thanks to a one-out Tyler Peterson double followed by an intentional walk. Courtesy runner Brady Walters scored the game-winning run, one of three runs he scored on the afternoon.

Isaac Stouffer led the Chucks, who have lost four straight and 6 of 7 to fall to 3-7 on the year, going 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Darren Byers also had a hit, a run scored and an RBI.

Tyler Richardson took the loss allowing the one run on two hits and a walk in ⅓ of an inning.

Brandon Matthews started and went seven innings allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out three. Logan Johnston pitched a scoreless eighth striking out one.

Peterson was 3-for-5 with three doubles to pace Hollidaysburg. Cory Storm also had three hits and scored twice.

Brendan Hileman got the win in relief pitching 5 ⅓ scoreless innings allowing two hits and a walk while striking out three.
