Wednesday’s HS Softball Roundup: Lingenfelter Tosses Perfect Game in Punxsy Win; Brookville Continues Roll

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (D9Sports) – Kylee Lingenfelter fired a perfect game, and Madison Stonebraker made it official with her one-out single in the bottom of the seventh that drove home Kim Shoemaker to give Punxsutawney a 1-0 win over Hollidaysburg.

In an emotional affair that saw the teams honor Mikayla Focht, the Hollidaysburg star player killed in an ATV accident April 14, after the game Lingenfelter was the story during the game.

The junior, who has committed to Penn State, struck out 18 of the 21 Lady Tigers she faced in getting the perfecto.

Oakley Fox-Kern, only a sophomore, did her best to match Lingenfelter pitch-for-pitch. Fox-Kern allowed the one run on five hits and four walks while striking out two.

BROOKVILLE 7, BRADFORD 2

BRADFORD, Pa. – Brookville continued its strong play with a 7-2 win at Bradford.

The Lady Raiders have now won two in a row and seven of eight to move to 7-3 on the year.

Josanna Hockinson, Jordan MacWilliams, Lauren Herget and Carlie McManigle each had two hits for Brookville.

Hockinson was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, MacWilliams was 2-for-4 with a double, Hergert was 2-for-4 and McManigle was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

McManigle got the win in the circle going seven innings allowing two unearned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out five.

Hannah Woodel was 1-for-3 with a run scored for Bradford.

Kaylee Brown took the loss allowing seven runs on 13 hits and a walk while striking out three.
