Local Man Facing Charges in Domestic Dispute Involving Woman, Infant

handcuffsWEST MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 26-year-old woman and a 6-month-old child were sent to Punxsutawney Area Hospital following a domestic dispute.

Police say the dispute took place on September 3 around 6:30 a.m.

During the dispute, Joshua Erik Shotts, 24, of Smicksburg, allegedly pushed a 26-year-old woman multiple times. At one point, the victim was allegedly pushed onto the floor of the home.

The female victim and a 6-month child were transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for injury evaluation.

Police say the female victim suffered a minor head injury and a sprained hip.

On September 8, Shotts was charged with one count of Simple Assault and two counts of Harassment, both misdemeanor offenses.

He was lodged in the Indiana County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for September 23.
