Western PA Cares for Kids Annual Duathlon to Be Held on July 20

COOKSBURG, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville YMCA and Western PA CARES for Kids are gearing up for their eighth annual duathlon, 5K run, and community walk on Saturday, July 20, at Cook Forest State Park, Shelter 2.

The duathlon will start at 9:00 a.m. and will include a three-mile run, 12-mile bike, and two-mile run.

The 5K run or two-mile community walk will begin at 10:00 a.m. Younger children and pets are welcome to walk.

An awards ceremony and free lunch will follow the race.

Participants may register in person on race day at the Day of Race Registration table beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to raise donations for Western PA CARES for Kids. Each participant bringing donations will be entered to win prizes, and any participant raising over $75.00 will be eligible for top prizes which include overnight getaways. The participant with the highest amount of donations gets first pick of all prizes.

All proceeds will benefit Western PA CARES for Kids Child Advocacy Center, which provides a child-friendly coordinated response to child abuse.
