July 6 – Save Our Hemlocks! at Cook Forest State Park – 10am – The hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA) has finally made it to Cook Forest.  This devastating insect feeds by sucking sap from hemlock and spruce trees, eventually killing them.  Meet at the park office for a challenging interpretive walk along the Seneca Trail and learn how we are trying to combat this beast and save the finest and most significant hemlock stand remaining in the eastern United States.  For more information call (814) 744-8407.
