Where to Find Live Music in the PA Great Outdoors in August

BlackLilliesAugust2016-1160x665There’s nothing better on a summer night than some great live music at a great venue. That’s exactly what we have in the PA Great Outdoors region! Here’s the hot August line up.

Gary Bickerstaff will be playing all your acoustic top favorite hits August 16th from 5-7 p.m., August 28th from 3-6 p.m. and August 30th from 5-8 p.m. at Trail’s End Restaurant, August 26th from 8-11 p.m. at Clarion River Brewing Company, and at Iron Mountain Grille on August 27th.

JB Unplugged is a singer/songwriter performing for over 25 years, playing the music you love from today’s new pop and country, to old classics with a catalog of over 500 songs and all genres of music. He’s playing at Trail’s End Restaurant on August 14th from 3-6 p.m.

Kurt Thomas is ½ of the duo Acoustic Highway. He plays acoustic rock n roll favorites. He will be at the Medix Hotel on August 6th and 7th for the Medix Run Rendezvous & August 20th for Elk Expo weekend.

Bill Thompson Unplugged will be playing country and rock acoustic favorites at the Medix Hotel on August 13th.

Visit R** Bandana Winery and hear Basement Band on August 6th from 2-5p.m.

Gashouse Annie has opened for many national acts including Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, Toby Keith and many more. With a mix of blues, country, bluegrass and even some gospel thrown in for good measure this is a show you have to see on August 6th at Deer Creek Winery from 2-5 p.m., August 27th from 6-9 p.m., and on August 13th from 2-5 p.m. at Foxburg Wine Cellars.

Richard Eustice is ½ of the duo Acoustic Highway. He plays acoustic rock n roll favorites. He will be at  Foxburg Wine Cellars on August 6th from 2-5 p.m.

Is blues, jazz, country and Texas swing your thing? Then Ricci Hardt is a must see on August 6th from 6-9 p.m. and August 13th from 12-5 p.m. at Deer Creek Winery and at Clarion River Brewing Company on August 12th from 8-10 p.m.

The 2 of Us is an acoustic rock duo playing all of your favorite songs at Sunset at the WineryAugust 6th starting at 7 p.m.

The Necessary Experience is a fun, funky rock and roll band playing top hits from The Beatles, Steve Miller, Marvin Gaye, Led Zeppelin, Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Motown. In essence they’re Funky People Playin’ Funky Tunes!!! They will play at Ray’s Hot Spot on August 6th.

Bob Shawgo plays classic to today’s acoustic rock n roll favorites entwined with comedic interaction at R** Bandana Winery on August 7th from 2-5p.m.

East and West plays country, folk, acoustic rock, bluegrass…and yes, even opera! They will be playing at Foxburg Wine Cellars on August 7th from 2-5 p.m.

Daniel Stockwell has a unique mix of folk, rock and indie music. He plays cover songs and has some really good original tunes as well. He’ll be at Deer Creek Winery on August 7th from 2-5 p.m.

Bad Hat Daddy O’s are a classic rock duo playing all of your favorites from the Eagles to Rod Stewart to Tom Petty and more at Trail’s End Restaurant August 7th from 3-6 p.m. and August 23rd from 5-8 p.m.

Samantha Sears will be playing her special blend of eclectic acoustic rock at Trail’s End Restaurant on August 9th from 5-8 p.m., at Deer Creek Winery on August 12th from 6-9 p.m., August 28th from 2-5 p.m., and at Allegheny Grille on August 19th from 6-9 p.m.

The Ryver Nymphs are an acoustic duo that plays country and folk favorites. They will be dishing up your favorites at Allegheny Grille on August 9th & 23rd from 6-9 p.m.

If you like acoustic classics then you’re going to want to be at Barclay Square on August 11th for B “n” B Acoustic Blend at 6:30 p.m.

Trixx band plays all of your favorite classic rock hits from the 70’s and 80’s including Journey, Styx, Bryan Adams and so much more. These guys have been together for a long time and it shows. They are playing at Ray’s Hot Spot on August 12th.

Root 2 Fifth is an acoustic music duo that plays classic, timeless country and rock tunes. They will be at the Iron Mountain Grille on August 12th and at the Medix Hotel on August 21st for Elk Expo weekend.

Rumble Seat Winos play electrifying rock with a unique show of great music and comedic interaction on August 12th from 7-10 p.m., August 13th from 2-5p.m., August 27th from 2-5 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Bryan Phillips will be playing all your favorite country hits at Deer Creek Winery on August 13th and 26th from 6-9 p.m.

Playing all of your country acoustic favorites Til’ Morning will be at R** Bandana Winery on August 13th from 7-10 p.m.

Robyn Young performs acoustic country, pop, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s rock and country. She is also a songwriter so you will hear some of her original work as well. She’s playing at Iron Mountain Grille on August 13th, at Deer Creek Winery on August 27th from 2-5 p.m. and at R** Bandana Winery on August 6th from 7-10 p.m. and August 28th.

Do you like rock and dance hits of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today? Then The Intent Band is just who you want to come out and see at Ray’s Hot Spot on August 13th.

Truth Seekers are an acoustic duo playing classic acoustic/folk rock, unique cover songs and originals at  Deer Creek Winery  on August 14th and 20th from 2-5 p.m.

For a jammin’, bluesy, funky funkin’ good time with some rock and R&B dance tunes too, you gotta catch Angel Blue and the Prophets on August 14th from 2-5 p.m. at Foxburg Wine Cellars.

A national touring country and roots band, The Black Lillies perform at Riverstone Farm with Allegheny River Valley’s rising young country star, singer songwriter and American Idol finalist Issac Cole opening up for them on August 14th starting at 5 p.m.

Down to the Wire has been playing classic rock since 1976! Come on down to Barclay Squareon August 18th at 6:30 p.m. and you’ll see what I mean.

The Sawyer Stepp Trio is a quality, easy listening, full sounding trio band that performs a nice variety of songs from the 70’s, 60’s, 50’s, 40’s, 30’s and even back to the roaring 20’s! They will play at  Deer Creek Winery on August 19th from 6-9 p.m.

Chaz plays all of your classic and dance rock favorites. They have been playing together for a long time and have always been very good. They are at Ray’s Hot Spot on August 19th.

If you need Jazz, standards and swing tunes in your life then Jazz Lite is the band that you need to see on August 19th at the Iron Mountain Grille.

If you like hard rock and heavy metal get out to Rocking For a Cure 3 starting August 19th at 5 p.m. and continuing on the 20th.  All bands are donating their time to help stamp out cancer and all ticket sales will be going to Relay for Life Brookville chapter.

From bluegrass to rock and back to country. Johnny Cash to Guns n Roses and back to Waylon Jennings. June Carter Cash to Joan Jett and back to Miranda Lambert. That’s what you get when you’re listening to Six-Pak! They are playing at Elk Expo on August 20th from 11 a.m.-noon and a second show from 1:30-3 p.m.

Free spirited playing paired with a raw, soulful voice and elevated through the use of percussive and vocal looping, Scott & Rosanna have pure electric energy together. Together, they create honest music that is warm and enveloping. See the magic live at Foxburg Wine Cellars on August 20th from 2-5 p.m.

Rick & Jen dish up all of your top 40 favorites on August 20th from 2-5 p.m at R** Bandana Winery followed by the new band Arcade from 7-10 p.m.

If you like today’s new country music, then you’ll love Andrew Mack and Friends when they play at the Iron Mountain Grille on August 20th.

Nick Forsyth covers everything from Johnny Cash to Led Zepplin and Tom Petty. He’s playing at Elk Expo on August 20th & 21st from 12-5 p.m. each day. Then on August 27th he will be at Benezette Wines from 3-6 p.m.

Uncharted Course will play some sweet, slow old time classic rock favorites for you at Deer Creek Winery on August 20th from 6-9 p.m.

Sofa King Cool Band plays classic rock so well you can almost feel your hair growing! Awesome and absolutely amazing. Classic rock, blues rock, southern rock, dance rock, if it’s rock then they play it, and they’re playing it at Ray’s Hot Spot on August 20th.

Company Townes is an acoustic country folk trio playing original and cover tunes with influences stemming from early country, rock, blues and roots based music. They are playing at Elk Expo on August 21st, doing two shows from 12-1 p.m. and 1:30-3 p.m.

Trevor Runco will be at DeBence Antique Music World playing the Knabe grand piano on August 21st at 1:30 p.m.

Darla of the Route 8 Band is going solo with a new spin on some rock favorites on August 21st at R** Bandana Winery.

J.D. Eicher is a singer songwriter who has a new album (The Middle Distance) coming out on May 6th.  Infused with rock, pop and indie influences you don’t want to miss his performance at Foxburg Wine Cellars on August 21st from 2-5 p.m.

Singer-songwriter Coston Cross continuously uses all his life experiences and the influences of Garth Brooks, George Strait, George Jones and believe it or not Guns ‘n Roses to shape his own style of new country music. He is a must see at Trail’s End Restaurant on August 21st from 3-6 p.m.

Come out to Deer Creek Winery on August 21st from 2-5 p.m. for some original indie, folk and roots rock by Coleville.

The Windy River Band plays all types of music from country, to oldies to classic rock that you can dance to and have a blast! If you like to dance —- you’ll love this band. For over a decade they have played all over Western PA and want to play for you so don’t miss them at R** Bandana Winery on August 26th from 7-10 p.m.

Spanning four decades, The Ozone Rangers are a classic rock, country, and ZZ Top tribute band. Relying on a groove of bluesy bass and drum rhythms sprinkled with some tasty Southern licks, the Ozone recipe has stood the test of time like a bottle of Jack Daniels on a woodshed shelf. You don’t want to miss them at Ray’s Hot Spot on August 26th.

If you like bluesy rock and just plain fun, then you have to come see the Renegade Roosterson August 27th from 7-10 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.

Against the Grain is a western PA rock band playing everything from classic rock to alternative to today’s hits including interesting versions of fan-favorite songs that span hard rock classics from AC/DC and Led Zeppelin to Grunge-Alternative bands such as the Foo Fighters and Reliant K. They will be playing on August 27th at Ray’s Hot Spot.

Max Schang Trio of Blues Band does a collection of well-known blues tunes performed with a sense of fun and an original approach…and as always a crowd-stompin’ good time so get your stomp on at Foxburg Wine Cellars on August 28th from 2-5 p.m. and at Allegheny Grille on August 30th from 6-9 p.m.

Paul Shimmel plays acoustic original country tunes and some covers. See him live at the Medix Hotel on August 28th.

The region also has some terrific monthly meet ups to showcase your talent as well.

The Forest County Country Music Association has a bluegrass and country music jam session to set your toes a tappin’ and your fingers snappin’. You are even welcome to join in if you like. It happens the 2nd Friday each month at the MACA building on Pine Street in Marienville and the 3rd Friday each month at the Forest Folk School in Tionesta.

If you love American Folk Music; singing, playing guitar, banjo, ukulele, dulcimer or mandolin meet at CREATE Café on the first Thursday of each month where you’ll play the music of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more of your favorite classic folk tunes from the 1930’s through the 1970’s. On the third Thursday of each month bring a stringed instrument and join in the Fiddler’s Jam at CREATE Café or just sit a spell and watch. Call (814) 271-7726 for more information.

Blackbird Distillery has a different artist every Saturday at Shine On Saturdays.

Pack up your pipes and get your karaoke on every Wednesday from 8-11 p.m. at Ray’s Hot Spot.

On the 3rd Thursday of every month Tom Frech of Dos Hombres will be hosting Medix Hotel’s Got Talent open mic night so get out there, enjoy yourself on the deck with a cold cocktail and let your “soul sing” on.

Be your own rock star or just have fun listening with Master Blaster DJ Karaoke on August 14th from 2-5 p.m. and August 19th from 7-10 p.m. at R** Bandana Winery.
