William E. Dickerson

William E. Dickerson, 70, of Corsica, died Sunday, March 11, 2018, at his home of natural causes.

Mr. Dickerson was born on March 13, 1947, in Evansville, Indiana. He was the son of the late Ellis and Dorothy Sturgeon Dickerson.

He was a graduate of Reitz School as well as the Indiana Art Institute.

From 1964 to 1968 he served with the US Marine Corp in Vietnam. He was an expert marksman. He was a member of the Brookville Fireman’s Club. He enjoyed art, fish, and travel.

On March 23, 1996, in Homosassa, FL, he married the former Judy M. Flinchbaugh. She survives him.

Bill lived in Indiana until 1979, he then moved to Homosassa, FL, living there until 2012, at which time he joined his wife in Pennsylvania.

He was a self-employed artist. He lead a very “colorful” life painting billboards and murals from Branson, Missouri to Key West, Florida.

In addition to his wife, and is survived by his stepchildren, Thomas Fox, of Kissimmee, FL, and Shelly (Kevin) Hockman, of Summerville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Sharon Deutsch and Susan Price, both of Homosassa, FL.

He is also survived by close friends Tod and Gail Dunivan, of Homosassa, FL, and Vernon and June Flinchbaugh, of PA.

A memorial service will be held at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St, Summerville, PA, Friday, March 23, 2018, 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Randy Evans. Friends will be received prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
