William F. “Bill” White

1464728291William F. “Bill” White was born September 6, 1923, in Big Run, Pennsylvania, to Frederick Crawford and Leonora Mae (Zeigler) White.

He died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, in Owasso, Oklahoma, at the age of 92 years. Bill was reared and educated in Big Run and was a graduate of Big Run High School. He was a veteran of the armed forces having served his country honorably with over 18 years of service with the United States Air Force then retiring at the rank of Major. His active service included World War II and the Korean War. Bill was married September 20, 1947, at Momence, Illinois, to Lorelei Ann Davis. He spent much of his civilian career working in retail sales with Montgomery-Ward. He enjoyed a variety of pastimes including spending time gardening and woodworking. He also enjoyed listening to big band music.

Loving family members include four children, Nancy Strait and husband Don, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Janet Jackson and husband John, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jack White and wife Lori, of Burien, Washington, and Dave White and wife Evelyn, of Meridian, Mississippi; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lorelei.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at the Mowery Funeral Service Chapel in Owasso with Pastor Don Strait and Chaplain Henry Bartlett officiating. Private family disposition will be held at a later date. Arrangements and services were entrusted to Mowery Funeral Service of Owasso.
