William Francis “Bill” Clark

William Francis “Bill” Clark, 75, of Punxsutawney, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on March 23, 1940, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Carl V. Clark, Sr. and Margaret M. (Bushong) Clark.

On May 20, 1967, he married Anna Rita (Porada) Clark. They were married 45 years before she preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2012.

Mr. Clark is a US Navy veteran. Following his time in the Navy, he worked as a union electrician with IBEW Local No. 5, retiring in 1996.

He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and also attended SS.C.D. Catholic Church.

Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. One of his favorite pastimes was having coffee with his friends at McDonald’s. He enjoyed target shooting, electronics and computers, and he was also a ham radio operator. He was a member of the Eagles and the Slovak Club.

Mr. Clark is survived by two daughters, Frances Anne Clark and Michael Barilar, and Chrissy Clark and Brian Hoch, all of Punxsutawney; two grandchildren, Lucas John Yingling and Zoe Anna Yingling; one sister, Pauline Means; a brother-in-law, Larry Porada and wife Jackie; and a sister-in-law, Linda Porada, all of Punxsutawney; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Carl V. Clark, Jr. and Robert Clark.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the funeral home. It will be officiated by the Reverend Maureen Seifried.

Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to SS.C.D. School or the Punxsutawney Area Hospital Congestive Heart Failure Clinic.
