William R. Gaugler, age 86 of Luthersburg, PA, died Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Penn Highlands DuBois Hospital.
Born on May 10, 1936, in Gilbertsville, PA, he was the son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Moyer) Gaugler.
He was married to Mary Gregory Gaugler. She survives.
Bill was a veteran of the United States Army.
He retired in 1984 from the trucking industry. He was a self-employed owner operator. Bill enjoyed refurbishing farm tractors and going to auctions. He was well known in the area as “Tractor Bill”. Bill enjoyed his garden, hunting and taking long rides. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, Bill is survived by his four children (Rick Gregory and his wife Linda of DuBois, PA, Chris Eberlin and her husband John of Erie, PA, Russ Gregory and his wife Lynny of Luthersburg, PA and Lee Ann Sawyer and her husband John of Richmond, VA), one sister (Verdi Smith of Gilbertsville, PA), ten grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
There will be no public visitation.
A private funeral service will be held from the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. with his son-in-law John Sawyer officiating.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
