Willie Mae Leadbetter

Willie Mae Leadbetter, formerly of Corsica, passed away at the Clarion Hospital on February 11, 2018, at the age of 87.

She was born on October 27, 1930, in Vermillion Parish, LA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ovelia (Dore’) Delcambre. In 1954, she married James F. Leadbetter who preceded her in death in 2012.

Willie was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion, and a past member of the Strattanville American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and adored her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo, reading and playing card games.

She is survived by her four children, Tina Rankin (Ron) of Clarion, Jo Bullers (Gary) of Limestone, James S. Leadbetter (Patty) of Strattanville, and Bill Leadbetter (Jessica) of Strattanville; her seven grandchildren, B.J. Rankin, Morgan Roller (Chuck), Nate Bullers, Charity McFadden, Brandon Leadbetter (Krissy), Rick Leadbetter, and Billy Leadbetter; and her five great-grandchildren, Lily, Jake, Chase, Taylor, and Kyden.

In addition to her parents, Willie was preceded in death by her siblings, brothers Francis, Paul and Herbert; and sisters Girlie, Florence, and Bernice; and two grandchildren, James Ross Rankin, and Brandi Lee Smith.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Monty Sayers, pastor of Immaculate Conception Church officiating. Interment will be in the Asbury Cemetery.
