Wilma “Wink” LaRue Yohe

Wilma “Wink” LaRue Yohe, 87, of Punxsutawney, passed away November 18, 2022, at DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born on July 19, 1935, in McGees Mils, the daughter of the late August A. Peace and Martha (Bouch) Peace.

On February 6, 1955, she married Dean Allen Yohe, who preceded her in death on July 16, 2011.

Wink attended First Church of Christ in Big Run.

She enjoyed crocheting and reading.

In her younger years she enjoyed going to dances with her husband Dean.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother- she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her family was her pride and joy.

Wink is survived by her four children: David Yohe and his wife Lori of Reynoldsville, Beverly Smith of Emporium, Richard Yohe and his wife Elizabeth of Charleston, SC and Brenda Cekovsky and her husband John of Punxsutawney; seven grandchildren: Eric (Jennifer) Yohe, Holli (Jason) Polito, Keenan Yohe, Jerica (Adam Goldsmith) Mitchell, Katlyn (Blair) Niermeyer, Shawna (fiancé Chris Remick) Fye Jared (Emily Meyers) Cekovsky); and five great grandchildren: Pepper, Shelby, Wesley, Rhyett and Jackson; two sisters, Emogene Manners of Nevada and Ruby Geer of Marienville.

In addition to her parents and husband Dean, Wink was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Peace, a sister, Gladys Wagner and son-in-law, James Smith.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 2-6pm at the Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc. Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 6pm at the funeral home with Pastor Barry Fillman officiating.

Interment be at McClure Cemetery, Big Run.
