Wind Chill Advisory Remains in Effect Until Saturday

CLARION, Pa. – A Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect for Clarion County and surrounding areas.

The following urgent winter weather message was issued by the National Weather Service, Pittsburgh, Pa., at 5:24 a.m. on January 3, 2014:

* WIND CHILL…AS LOW AS 18 BELOW THIS MORNING…AND AS LOW AS 15 BELOW TONIGHT DUE TO TEMPERATURES ZERO TO 7 ABOVE THIS MORNING AND TONIGHT…AND WINDS NORTHWEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH THIS MORNING AND SOUTHWEST 10 TO 15 MPH TONIGHT.

* TIMING…INTO SATURDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS…FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA ARE POSSIBLE IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WIND WILL PRODUCE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS COULD RESULT IN FROST BITE AND HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS…MAKE SURE YOU DRESS PROPERLY.
