At 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, the National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the the following Urgent Winter Weather Message:

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…5 TO 7 INCHES.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS…AROUND A TENTH OF AN INCH.

* SNOW AND ICE BEGINNING…THIS EVENING.

* PERIOD OF MOST INTENSE SNOW AND ICE…10 PM TONIGHT TO 8 AM WEDNESDAY.

* SNOW AND ICE ENDING…EARLY AFTERNOON WEDNESDAY.

* WINDS…NORTHEAST 5 TO 10 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES…AROUND 30.

* IMPACTS…TREACHEROUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO A WINTRY MIX OF SNOW SLEET AND ICE. THE WEIGHT OF THE SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATIONS COULD KNOCK DOWN SOME TREE LIMBS AND POWER LINES.
