Woman Accused of Assaulting Man During Domestic Incident Due in Court on Thursday

JEFFERSON CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Brookville woman is facing a hearing on Thursday on assault charges related to a domestic incident in Brookville Borough.

Court documents indicate 42-year-old Amber M. Altman is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, on the following charges:

– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

She is currently free on $10,000.00 unsecured bail.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred in Brookville Borough in mid-March.

Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:23 a.m. on March 14, Brookville Borough Police were dispatched to a residence on Richards Street for a report of a domestic dispute.

According to the complaint, at the scene, multiple individuals were interviewed.

The complaint notes Amber Altman was being very loud and disruptive while police were at the scene.

According to the complaint, the victim reported he and Altman got into a verbal altercation, and Altman then “got up in his face” and tried to hit him, but he blocked her punches, grabbed her, and held her against a wall to prevent her from fighting. He reported she then got loose and tried to hit him again, but he got her to the ground and held her there.

The complaint notes the victim had numerous scratches to the back of his neck that had been bleeding but did not require medical attention.

According to the complaint, when questioned, Altman initially admitted she tried to hit the victim, then changed her story.

The complaint notes there was also video footage of the incident, which the officers were able to view.

Altman was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M. Bazylak at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14.
