Woman Accused of Medication Fraud at Local Drug Store

crime-newsBROOKVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – Brookville Borough Police were called to investigate an incident of Medication Fraud at Means-Lauf Super Drug in Brookville.

Police say through the course of the investigation it was determined that the suspect allegedly called doctors in Pittsburgh and attained medication prescriptions for her boyfriend, who was currently incarcerated in the Jefferson County Jail.

The prescriptions were picked up by the accused, which consisted of her allegedly forging the incarcerated man’s name to the prescription.

According to police, the accused also allegedly used the incarcerated man’s medicare to pay for the prescriptions, which she admitted to taking herself.

The incident occurred around 12:00 p.m. on June 16.

The accused is being charged with the following:

– Possession of Controlled Substance
– Forgery
– Theft
– Receiving Stolen Property
– Prohibited Drug Acts
– Insurance Fraud

The name of the accused was not released.
