Woman Accused of Stealing Meds from Big Run Residence

BIG RUN BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – A woman who allegedly stole medication from a victim in Big Run Borough earlier this year is scheduled to appear in court today.

Court documents indicate 43-year-old Tanya Lynn Abrams, of Duncansville, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 23, on one third-degree count of theft by unlawful taking.

The charge stems from a theft that occurred earlier this year in Big Run Borough.

According to a criminal complaint, around 11:12 a.m. on January 14, a known victim contacted the Punxsutawney-based State Police to report medication stolen from his residence in Big Run Borough.

The victim reported his assisted living caregiver, Tanya Lynn Abrams, admitted to stealing his Gabapentin and Oxycodone pills.

According to the complaint, when questioned by police, Abrams admitted to taking the medications without the victim’s knowledge or consent.

The charge was filed against Abrams through Magisterial District Judge David B. Inzana’s office on January 21, and a first-class summons was issued on January 28.
