Woman Charged with Assault After Allegedly Driving Vehicle Towards Male, Causing Him to Jump onto Hood to Avoid Injury

YOUNG TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 3:00 p.m. on November 6, an assault occurred on Dutchtown Road, in Young Township, Jefferson County.

Police say 52-year-old Susan E. Leeman, of Punxsutawney, allegedly struck a known male with a key causing lacerations to his arm and neck.

While attempting to leave the scene, Leeman allegedly drove her vehicle toward the victim, causing him to jump onto the hood to avoid injury, according to police.

She then drove north on Dutchtown Road with the victim holding onto the hood. She stopped short of State Route 36, allowing the victim to remove himself from the hood of the vehicle.

She was charged with the following offenses before District Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak in District Court 54-3-01:

-Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
-Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Misdemeanor 2
-Harassment – Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

A preliminary hearing is pending.
