Woman, Child Escape Injuries Following One-Vehicle Crash in Pine Creek Twp.

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225PINE CREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 West, near the 82.8 mile marker, in Pine Creek Township, Jefferson County.

Police say around 7:15 a.m. on February 8, 40-year-old Charline A. Pope (address not listed) was traveling westbound on I-80 in the left lane when a small animal crossed the roadway in front of her 2012 Toyota Highlander.

Pope moved the vehicle to the left in an attempt to avoid the animal, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the guide rail, and then veered to the right. The vehicle came to a final rest, blocking the right lane, according to police.

Pope and a 7-year-old female passenger were wearing seat belts and were not injured.

Pope was charged with a traffic violation.

Pine Creek Township Fire Department, Jefferson County EMS, and McPherson Towing assisted at the scene.
