Woman Escapes Injury in Clover Township Crash

CLOVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Punxsutawney-based State Police responded to a crash yesterday on State Route 28 in Jefferson County.

According to police, Kathleen Schweikart, 57, of Butler, was traveling on SR-28 around 1:40 p.m. and attempted to negotiate a right turn in the roadway when she lost control of her vehicle and hit an embankment on the western shoulder of the road.

Her vehicle subsequently rolled over onto its roof in the southbound lane, police say.

Schweikart was wearing her seat belt and was not injured.

Her vehicle was disabled and had to be towed from the scene by Bailey’s Towing of Falls Creek.

Summerville VFD assisted at the scene.

Schweikart will be charged with a traffic violation.
