Woman Facing Charges for Threatening to Kill Woman and Burn Her House Down

NORTH MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Jefferson County woman is behind bars after she allegedly threatened to kill another woman and burn her house down.

Court documents indicate Punxsutawney-based State Police have filed criminal charges against 23-year-old Adalida Marie Hayes of Punxsutawney.

According to a criminal complaint, around 1:42 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, a known female arrived at the Punxsutawney State Police barracks to report threats against her life and property allegedly made by Adalida Marie Hayes.

According to the complaint, the woman reported the threats, which were made via text message, began on Monday, February 4, and continued into Tuesday, February 5.

The complaint notes that the woman showed proof of the messages from Hayes, which stated Hayes was going to kill her and burn her house down.

According to the complaint, the woman related the threats made her fear for her life and the safety of her grandchildren.

Hayes was arraigned at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, in front of Magisterial District Judge Guy B. Haberl.

She faces the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Harassment – Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3

Unable to post $10,000.00, Hayes was lodged in the Indiana County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, with Judge Haberl presiding.
