Woman Injured After Vehicle Slams into Utility Pole in North Mahoning Township

NORTH MAHONING TWP., Pa. (EYT) – Police say a woman was injured after she lost control of her vehicle and slammed into a utility pole in northern Indiana County recently.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, around 1:08 p.m. on February 24, a one-vehicle crash occurred on Juneau road in North Mahoning Township, Indiana County.

Police say 45-year-old Michelle Rivera Vicioso, of Indiana, was operating a 2009 Pontiac G6, traveling west on Juneau Road when she lost control of the vehicle on a left curve. The vehicle then traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

Rivera Vicioso was wearing a seatbelt.

She suffered head and shoulder injuries of unknown severity and was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was removed from the scene by Rebuck’s Southside Services.

Rossiter Fire Department and REA Energy Services also assisted at the scene.

Rivera Vicioso was cited for a speed violation.
