Woman Injured in One-Car Crash on Route 28

CLOVER TWP., Pa. (EYT) – State Police say a one-car accident happened Friday morning on State Route 28, west of Davis Lane, in Clover Township, Jefferson County.

According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, this crash occurred around 7:22 a.m. as a 2007 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on Route 28.

Police say the driver of the car – 33-year-old Youna Han, of Johnsonburg – was negotiating a slight left curve on the wet roadway when the car’s passenger side tires slid off the curb of the southbound travel lane.

Han attempted to get the car back on the roadway, and it began to rotate counterclockwise. Han counter-steered causing the car to lose control and rotate clockwise. The car left its lane traveling across the double yellow lines. and continued to rotate clockwise while sliding across the roadway, entering the northbound lanes.

The car continued to slide, causing the driver’s side door to impact the guide rail on the berm on the northbound lane. The car then began traveling down the embankment after impacting the guide rail. The car came to a final rest on the embankment off the northbound lane, facing north, according to police.

Summerville EMS transported Han to Brookville Hospital for suspected minor injuries.

She was using a seat belt.

She was charged with a traffic violation.

Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Summerville Volunteer Fireman’s Association, and Summerville EMS assisted at the scene.
