Woman Injured in Two Vehicle Crash on Interstate 80

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – Police have released the details of a two-vehicle crash that injured a woman on Interstate 80 in Brookville Borough earlier this month.

According to police, around 10:56 p.m. on March 21, a two-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 80 westbound near the 78.8 mile-marker.

Police say 25-year-old Maha Elgheur, of Staten Island, New York, was operating a 2018 Subaru XV Crosstrek, pulling back into the right lane of Interstate 80 westbound from a parked position on the right shoulder, and entered the lane in front of a 2014 Freightliner truck operated by 27-year-old Kevin C. Eubanks, of Wimauma, Florida. Eubanks’s truck then struck the rear of Elgheur’s vehicle, and Elgheur’s vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and came to a final rest in the grass.

Elgheur was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered injuries of unknown severity. She was transported to Penn Highlands Brookville by Jefferson County EMS.

Eubanks was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Eubanks was cited for a traffic violation.
