Woman Sent to Hospital After Car Crashes into Tree

BELL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A local woman was sent to the hospital following a one-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

Punxsutawney-based State Police said the accident happened around 8:00 a.m. when Amanda M. Powell, 36, of Punxsutawney, lost control of her vehicle while traveling north on a snow-covered State Route 36.

Police said Powell’s 2007 Honda Fit began to slide as she was attempting to negotiate a right turn. The vehicle then exited the roadway and crashed into a tree before coming to a final rest facing south.

She was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for possible injuries.

Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
