Work Began on Route 949 Bridge Replacement Project

HEATH TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Work began last week on an emergency bridge replacement project on Route 949 in Heath Township, Jefferson County.

The bridge carrying Route 949 over Clear Creek near Clear Creek State Park was closed after being damaged in the flood of June 27.

A posted detour has been in place since the closure and will remain in place during the construction of the bridge.

This $1,105,456.00 emergency bridge replacement project is being constructed by M and B Services, LLC, and is expected to be completed by the end of May 2014.

The bridge is expected to open to traffic mid-March 2014.
