Youth Pastor Accused of Sexually Assaulting Teen Girl

pesci EAST BRADY, Pa. (EYT) – A 24-year-old youth pastor is facing felony charges in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl.

The following charges were filed against David Thomas Pesci, of East Brady, at Magisterial District Judge Jeffrey C. Miller’s office:

– Sexual Assault by Volunteer or Employee of Nonprofit, Felony 3 (3 counts)
– Corruption Of Minors – Defendant Age 18 or Above, Felony 3 (3 counts)

Pesci was the youth pastor at the First Baptist Church in East Brady Borough.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Southern Clarion County Regional Police Officer Nicole Peck, the investigation was initiated when police received a report of an alleged sexual relationship between Pesci and a 16-year-old girl who attended his youth group.

On September 3, Officer Peck interviewed the teen with her mother present.

During the interview, the juvenile disclosed that her friendship with Pesci began when she was 14 years old and started attending his youth group.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim stated that the two began communicating less than a year ago via text messages and Facebook messenger after she had a fight with her best friend and she was looking for advice.

The criminal complaint states that the juvenile became very close with Pesci, naming him as one of her best friends. She also stated that she spent the night at Pesci’s residence on multiple occasions.

During the interview, the teen allegedly stated that the first time Pesci kissed her was when she was 15 years old and was staying the night at Pesci’s residence along with other youth group members, the complaint indicates.

The juvenile allegedly stated that she was in the basement and went to a separate couch to go to sleep when Pesci approached her and began kissing her, the complaint continues.

According to the criminal complaint, the juvenile also allegedly told police that Pesci kissed her on two separate occasions at the church during youth group and that Pesci touched her in a sexual manner on a separate occasion.

Pesci was placed in the Clarion County Jail after failing to post $10,000.00 bail.

A preliminary hearing is set for October 27 before Judge Miller.
