LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Eastern Wrestling League announced its Freshman of the Week for Feb. 1, with Clarion’s Brock Zacherl earning the weekly honors for his win on Friday evening against Lock Haven.
Zacherl picked up his first win by fall of the season to improve to 23-1 overall, defeating the Bald Eagles’ Joe Ghione with a pin in the second period. Zacherl dropped Ghione with a single-leg takedown to open the first period and led 4-1 after three minutes of action; the lead reached 6-1 before Zacherl brought Ghione down again, this time twisting him to the mat and pinning him at the 4:54 mark to claim the win by fall.
