Snowman in the Forest Day

Join us for a day of family fun wintry activities along the picturesque National Wild & Scenic Clarion River within Cook Forest State Park. Ice skating (some skates available), sledding (bring your tubes or sleds), chili cook-off, horse drawn sleigh rides, happy dog contest, and Smokey the Bear. We are cooking hot dogs, kraut dogs, chili for all!! This is a wonderful family event! Come out and see how beautiful Cook Forest is in the winter! Dress warm!!
Schedule:
11:30 am – Chili Cook Off – Mild and Hot Divisions
11:30 am – Guided hike within the old growth forest on Cook Trail.
Bring your snowshoes if you have them, but not required.
11:30 am – 2:30 pm – Carriage rides, sledding, Snowman building, Wildlife presentation, K-9 Rescue
team presentation, Face painting, indoor games, and much more!!
1:00 pm – Happy Dog Contest, Guided hike within the old growth forest on Cook Trail.
2:00 pm – Door Prize Awards
Snowman in the Forest Contest Rules:
Build a snowman in any designated sponsor’s location in the Cook Forest/Clear Creek area, beginning with the first snowfall of the season and ending with the last snowfall in February. Have the sponsor take a picture of you and your snowman and it will be entered in the contest and displayed here on our website.
