Homemade French Onion Dip
Ingredients
• 1 1/2 cups diced onion
• 2 tbsp. olive oil
• 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
• 1 cup sour cream
• 1 cup mayonnaise
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/4 tsp. ground white pepper
• 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
Directions
- Heat oil in a sauté pan over medium heat and then add onions and ¼ teaspoon salt. Cook the onions until they are caramelized, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- Mix the rest of the ingredients in a bowl and then add the cooled onions. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours and stir again before serving.
